- 1). Shut down your computer and unplug it from the outlet. Open your computer's side panel, and touch a piece of metal away from your computer to discharge any static electricity safely.
- 2). Insert the graphics card into a PCI-Express (PCIe) slot on your motherboard. The PCIe slot looks like a long, narrow plastic rectangle with a quick-release latch on one end. Replace the side panel of your computer and plug in the power supply.
- 3). Connect the DVI input wires of the monitors to the DVI outputs on the graphics card. The DVI connections look like small, white plastic rectangles with three rows of eight square holes. Connect the USB outputs of the monitors to the ports on your computer with the USB cable supplied with each monitor.
- 4). Start your computer. Right-click anywhere on the desktop and click "Properties" for Windows XP, "Personalize" for Windows Vista or "Screen Resolution" for Windows 7. Open the "System Preferences" from the dock if you're using a Mac, and click "Detect Displays."
- 5). Click the "Settings" tab in the Windows Display Properties panel. Choose the first monitor from the drop-down menu if it has not automatically been chosen, and then click the second monitor to choose it from the drop-down menu.
- 6). Set the resolution of each monitor under "Screen Resolution." Refer to your owner's manual if you're not sure what the resolution is. A widescreen monitor might have a resolution of 1600-by-900 pixels, while a square monitor's resolution might be 1400-by-1050 pixels. Restart your computer to enable both monitors.
- 7). Insert the touch screen monitor's installation disk in the CD drive and run the setup program. Choose the type of monitor you are installing drivers for and click "Next." Calibrate each monitor by touching the onscreen targets that appear during installation. Click "Finish" after calibrating the monitors.
- 8). Recalibrate your monitors from time to time by running the monitor software from the system tray on the bottom right of your screen or from the "Start" menu. You will see an icon of the brand of monitor you own. Run the software by double-clicking the icon, and click "Calibrate" or "Align" to go through the calibration process.
