New Series! Practical Couponing - Because I Am Not Jumping Into Any Dumpsters - Save Hundreds! $$$
Then, she whips out her enormous stack of coupons and 20 minutes later...
she gets $10 back from the cashier.
The actions above are the result of a national craze of "couponing".
I have spent countless hours trying to follow these "Extreme Couponers "and their methods of madness.
What I have come to realize is that I would never have the appropriate amount of time or desire to dumpster dive for old coupon inserts or spend an eternity clipping simply to purchase 70 bottles of mustard for 90 cents.
C'mon...
I will never need or use 70 bottles of mustard any time soon.
Now, with the exception of garbage swimming, I have done all of the typical "extreme" measures used to save money on groceries and household needs.
I subscribed to the Sunday paper, have been seen shamefully swiping handfuls of store coupon flyers and spent mindless hours clipping coupons that I never even used.
What I have learned through all of that was an easy practical method of "couponing" that has saved our family an average of $200 per month.
I will show you how I do this in only 1 hour per week.
It is so easy! OK now, I work HARD.
I'm a wife and mom to my 2 & 7 yr old girls, I run 2 businesses from home and I am pursuing an M.
D.
"Busy" is an understatement.
I certainly do not have time to browse the internet for 20 hrs a week searching for coupons.
My system is quick, pain-free and is guaranteed to save you money! Oh, and did I mention that I only shop at 1 store and only go shopping 1 day per week?? Here are some of the key components that I have learned: 1.
You can not be a "Brand Snob" I've heard lots of reasons why people buy certain brands.
But, let me tell you, you will never save money on your grocery bill if you are particular to one certain brand for the products you buy.
I'm not telling you to buy store brands; which are of equal quality by the way.
I'm saying that you can buy name brands for less than those store brands with proper planning and coupons.
This method has not only saved my family money, but has introduced us to some new favorite foods as a result of trying new brands.
Check your store's website or sale ad to see which brands are on sale that week and plan accordingly.
Which brings me to my next tip: 2.
You must "plan meals around deals" This can be the hardest concept for most families.
It doesn't have to be though.
Before I prepare my weekly grocery list, I check my store's website for sales.
My favorite store runs Buy 1 Get 1 Free deals every week! This is great because you can buy just one item and get it half price.
If you pair that with a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon, it could be free! Don't tell me you couldn't plan meals around something you got for free, right? Especially if it's a main component of the meal, like pasta, for example.
Since starting this system, I've never paid full price for pasta.
Also, I use this method of "stacking" coupons to get overage and use that money towards things that I don't have coupons for like produce and meat.
3.
You must pay attention to store sale cycles This one was the trickiest for me.
I started collecting the sales ads from my favorite grocery store and noticed that the same items were on sale every 6 weeks or so.
This was my "Ah Ha" moment when I discovered that I could purchase things my family needed once every 6 weeks at a super low price, with my coupons of course.
I only shop at one store, so I am unsure of all sale cycles.
But, if you start collecting ads as I did, I'm sure you will be able to detect the pattern.
These simple tips are guaranteed to shave money off of your grocery bill.
