Gas Or Electric Heating? Which One For You?

103 2
When it comes to choosing a heating system, there are so many things to consider that the choice can sometimes seem impossible, and there are especially a large number of considerations when choosing between a gas-fired or electric system.
However the choice can be simplified easily, and that is by accepting that there is no need to choose between the two, but to see that the systems can be complimentary.
In most cases, electric heating can work alongside a gas system, with the gas system doing most of the day to day work, such as being the main heating source and delivering the hot water, while the electric system can act as a back up.
This can be achieved in many ways, but one of the best is to install hot water radiators run by a gas boiler, and then use an electric fire, either a permanently-installed type or a portable type, to add extra heating as needed.
Portable electric heaters can also be moved to places such as cold bedrooms in order to raise the temperature before bedtime, for instance.
Electric heating can also be used as a backup for the water heating, with an electric immersion heater used if there is ever a gas boiler failure.
By keeping electricity as a backup heating source, you effectively get the best of both worlds.
Take time to look at the various options available to get the best from both sources of heating, and you will no longer feel the need to choose between the two.
