    Methodologies

    • Information about seasonable bee colony management, management of wild honey bees, swarm control, Africanized honey bees and many other useful topics can be obtained at regional beekeeping websites such as the Mid-Atlantic Apiculture Research and Extension Consortium. The same organization addresses bee diseases and afflictions.

    Publications

    • Magazines such as "Bee Culture" and "American Bee Journal" are standard reference for American beekeepers. Publications on individual topics such as colony collapse disorder are often published on the Internet by state and regional organizations and can be searched by topic.

    Associations and Clubs

    • An excellent reference list of state beekeeping associations and clubs is published by Bee Culture. State beekeeping associations have strong working relationships with local beekeeping associations, promote good beekeeping practices, disseminate information, advance research beneficial to beekeeping practices and provide a forum for cooperation among beekeepers. Local beekeeping clubs conduct monthly meetings that might include an informative speaker and provide time to network with fellow beekeepers about beekeeping suppliers, swarm spotting, new and used equipment, and other matters of interest.
