    • The Ford F-350 Super Duty Pickup is available in four variations: the XL, XLT, Lariat and King Ranch. The Lariat and King Ranch versions have luxury features such as leather seats and satellite radio, while the XL and XLT are more basic versions. All four versions of the F-350 are available with either a gasoline engine or the Power Stroke Diesel Engine.

    Size

    • The Power Stroke Diesel Engine is a 6.7-liter V8 engine. The bore is 3.9 inches and the stroke is 4.25 inches. It features a single-sequential turbocharger and 32 valves. The engine cooling system is a pressurized series flow system with an intelligent oil-life monitor and the turbocharger is cooled by a charged air cooler.

    Configuration

    • The engine's 32 valves are laid out in an overhead valve design. The cylinder heads are made of aluminum and operate using push rods and rocker arms. The engine block is made of cast iron and the camshaft is driven by gears.

    Battery and Alternator

    • The Power Stroke engine runs on dual 12-volt batteries that produce 78 amps an hour. Three alternator options are available for the Power Stroke engine: the 157-amp alternator comes standard, a 200-amp alternator is optional or both alternators may be installed for a total of 357 amps.

    Power

    • The 6.7-liter V8 Power Stroke Diesel Engine can produce up to 400 horsepower at 2,800 rpm. It can also produce 800 ft.-lbs. of torque at 1,600 rpm.
