Ranges from the Viking Range Corporation combine the best features of commercial and home ranges, with high-performance cooking surfaces, large capacity ovens, instant ignition and in-oven broiling. As of 2010, the company produces freestanding ranges, rangetops and cooktops, as well as a related line of high-end kitchen appliances and accessories. Specifications vary per model and change over time as Viking's product line evolves. - As of 2010, the Viking Range Corporation produces 21 freestanding range models with varying specifications. Its VGCC, VCSC, VESC, VGIC and DCCG ranges have cooking surfaces fthat range in size from 30 to 48 inches, while its VDSC and DSCE models have 48- and 60-inch surfaces. The ranges feature four, six or eight burners. Entry-level models like the 30-inch VGCC range have burners that reach temperatures of 15,000 BTU, while upscale models like the 48-inch VGSC range have TruPowerPlus burners that reach 18,500 BTU. Viking's 48- and 60-inch models feature dual ovens; the company's 36-, 48- and 60-inch models feature optional grill tops in addition to burners. The ranges' ovens reach 30,000 BTU temperatures via u-shaped burners and GourmetGlo infrared boilers. All Viking models are custom sealed by Viking, and some -- such as the VGSC models -- feature self-cleaning capabilities. Viking Range offers natural gas and propane gas fuel options and over twenty finish and color options including white, off-white, red, baby blue, orange, black and gray.
- Viking's 2010 line-up includes 14 rangetops, which come in the form of compact cooking appliances that offer cooking surfaces without an oven. Viking's rangetops include the VGRT, VERT, VGGT, VGQT, VGWT, DGRT and DERT lines, ranging in surface size from 24 to 60 inches and offering between four and eight burners, except for the VGQT, DRGT and VGGT models, which feature a grill, a burner surface and a griddle surface, respectively. The DERT and VERT models feature electric burners wile the VGWT focuses on wok cooking. The burners reach up to 15,000 BTU, while models with TruPowerPlus output 18,500 BTU. The ranges come in propane, natural gas and electric options. Viking offers their rangetops in neutral colors, such as gray and black.
- Viking cooktops present an even more compact range option than rangetops, coming in sizes from 30 to 35 inches. Viking's array of 16 cooktops encompasses the DGCU, DECU, DETU, VGSU, VECU, DGSU, VICU and DGVU lines, which come in electric, natural gas and propane options. The DGSU and VGSU model cooktops feature one-piece steel tops while DGVU and DGCU varieties have four to six individual burners. The VICU models have induction surfaces, while the VECU models make use of electric radiant tops, and the DETU line features touch controls.
