This is a grand film set in the Australian Outback and in the city of Darwin in the Northern Territory in the days before and after the bombing of the city by the Japanese. The film stars Nicole Kidman as an aristocratic English woman who travels to Australia to take over an Outbackcattle station on the death of her husband and who then has to drive 1500 cattle to Darwin with the help of a drover played by Hugh Jackman. This should have been a top movie but is marred by going off on several tangents and by sometimes cliched dialog. But the Outback setting is superb and makes the movie truly worth seeing.
