Cost

• Low-halogen bulbs cost less than standard bulbs. Even though most people don't need to replace lightbulbs very often, this can still represent a significant amount of savings in the long run.

• Halogen bulbs are known for the added power and brightness they provide, and this is true even for low-voltage halogen bulbs. A standard low-halogen bulb is up to 50 percent brighter than a standard bulb and transmits a whiter light that is more like the natural light produced by the sun.
  
  

Efficiency

• The real appeal of the low-halogen bulb is in its efficiency. Low-halogen lights require a fraction of the energy required to light a regular incandescent bulb, and can last anywhere from two to five times longer. Halogen bulbs require transformers, devices used to regulate the amount of voltage going into the fixture. Halogen transformers are small and safe.
