How to Write a Personal Narrative for Kids
- 1). Write or type about an event that you would like to share with the child. Write why this event is important enough for you to want to share it with someone else.
- 2). Write why this event happened to you and explain your role is in this event. Write a first-person sequence of actions that happened during this event.
- 3). Write your thoughts for each sequence of actions that happened during the event. Appeal to the reader's senses by describing what you saw, what you smelled, what you heard and what you felt. Explain each action that happened in such detail that the person reading your narrative can feel as though he or she are present at the event with you.
- 4). Write what you learned or accomplished as a result of this event. Write about what your thoughts were at the end of the event and how your actions in the event may have affected other people or objects.
