Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows XP
- 1). Turn off your iPod or other Apple device and then turn it back on.
- 2). Go to the "Home" screen on iTunes and click on the "Settings" button. Go to "General" and then click on the "Reset" button.
- 3). Hold the "Menu" button down on your Apple device and wait for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears to reset your device.
- 1). Pull the USB cable connecting your device to the computer out. Plug the cable back in.
- 2). Check over the USB cable to make sure there aren't any tears or breaks in the cable.
- 3). Use a different USB port with your device.
- 1). Unplug your Apple device from your computer.
- 2). Exit out of iTunes.
- 3). Restart your computer.
- 1). Open iTunes.
- 2). Go to the "iTunes Help" tab at the top of the software screen.
- 3). Click on "Check for Updates".
- 4). Wait for your computer to update your iTunes version.
- 1). Plug your Apple device into your computer. Open iTunes.
- 2). Click on the "Summary" tab on the left hand side of the screen. Choose "Restore".
- 3). Click on "Backup." Click "Restore" and then click on the "OK" button.
- 4). Click on the "Restore from Backup" button and then click on the "Backup Version".
- 5). Wait for the device to be restored.
