Reaching Nevadas Glorious Peaks

Nevada is surrounded by mountains. By visiting there, you might want to consider hiking one of its mountains. Charleston Peak, La Madre Mountain, and Ruby Mountains are three of the great summits to discover and explore.

Nevada is a state situated in the Western region of the USA. It is also called the Silver State due to its huge quantity of silver deposits that is being discovered and mined. This state is also surrounded by mountains, which makes hiking one of the most popular activities here in Nevada. The beautiful, wild, and rugged peaks of Nevada Mountains attract immeasurable outdoor adventurers to this state annually. Campers, hikers, and rock climbers, discover something amazing to do on the mountains such as the La Madre Mountain and the Charleston Peak. While some ranges such as the Ruby Mountains and the Spring Mountains are great places to explore and discover.

Charleston Peak
Charleston Peak, which is officially named as Mt. Charleston, is southern Nevadas highest mountain. It is situated in the ranges of Spring Mountain. This well-known, high-altitude, usual hiking destination is almost about an hour from Las Vegas. Due to its gigantic evergreens, high-altitude meadows and grasslands, scenic sights of the Sierra Nevada and some areas of Las Vegas, its very easy to behold Charleston Peaks attractiveness. But despite the fact that the mountains peak highlights two well-maintained trails, a hiker would still be challenged, and would require physical fitness. An average hiker would take a day in order to reach its peak.

During June until October, the Charleston Peak is usually snow-free. The winter hikers must have the accurate equipments and also some technical experience because the summit conditions could be freezing. Being ready and well-equipped would mean safety. There are various campsites along the track and hikers are to camp essentially at about 200 feet away from the springs and trails.

La Madre Mountain
The La Madre Mountain is along with the La Madre Wilderness rest at about 12 miles going west of Las Vegas, Nevada. The US Forest Service along with the Bureau of Land Management manages this boondocks. La Madre Mountain is seemingly a large wilderness region situated in the midst of the Rainbow Mountain Wilderness areas and Mt. Charleston, covering more or less 127,000 joint acres of selected wilderness. It is a composed of ridges, canyons, and peaks of crimson and russet sandstone emerging from the lower elevations. Altitudes are ranging from about 3,600 feet in Brownstone Basin to about 9,600 feet at La Madre Mountain. The highest point in the wilderness area is at 9,425 feet, situated on the far west side along the crest of the Spring Mountains. La Madres ridge has the most outstanding feature measuring at about 8,154 feet. The Wilderness offers a habitat for the bighorn sheep and various floras.

Ruby Mountains
The extensive and fine Ruby Mountains stretch for approximately a hundred miles in Nevada, rarely more than ten miles wide. Their rugged and granite-like peaks soar high above Nevadas snow-filed streams, verdant meadows, glacial valleys, and countless shimmering lakes. Unlike other mountains in Nevada, the Ruby Mountains are filled with snow and rich in water, making this landscape very impressive and extraordinary. The Ruby Mountains Wilderness Vicinity extends approximately 90,000 acres which is all in Nevada State. It consists of 10 peaks over 10,000 feet high and more than 20 alpine lakes. Some of the guests here do hike, camp and fish in several of the most dazzling, natural surroundings in Nevada. The Ruby Mountains Wilderness Area is a habitat to one of the largest herds of mule deer, and also of bighorn sheep and mountain goats. Abounding in Ruby Mountains streams is the streams of the Trout, and it includes the endangered species of Lahontan cutthroat trout.
