Zino Davidoff - The Cigar Maker

Born in Kiev on the 11th of March in the year 1906, Zino Davidoff was born to a Jewish tobacco merchant and so the chosen field came naturally to him.
His association with tobacco began very early in life and the need for learning the tricks of the trade made him venture out to Latin America.
After completing schooling in the year 1924, he set off to Latin America to learn the practicalities involved in the tobacco trade.
This first hand experienced combined with his inner urge to make a difference in his chosen field has resulted in the tobacco empire that he eventually created.
His marketing skills helped transform his family business into a very prosperous venture and soon with his invention of the very first desktop cigar named "Humidor", there was no looking back.
He also was successful in his writing ventures and brought out books on Cuban cigar brands and cigar smoking.
The year 1969 saw the launch of the first Davidoff cigars with collaboration with a Cuban manufacturer.
With some problems with the Cuban producer and big controversies Davidoff soon put an end to the line of Cuban cigars and ventured further to explore new possibilities and success was by his side all through.
Davidoff is a name to reckon with in the world of tobacco products, cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobaccos.
The 14th of January 1994 saw the demise of Zino Davidoff but he has left behind a legacy that would go on for a long time to come.
Davidoff line of cigarettes includes the Magnum, Classic, Magnum Lights, Slims, and Menthol to name a few.
The Davidoff line has diversified into varied fields and today has its flag flying high with several other products like watches, pipes, briefcases, pens and even cologne.
From a humble start, the brand Davidoff has come a long way.
With the diversification and further ambitious plans of expansion, Davidoff has established itself firmly and is here to stay and make an impact for a long time to come.
