Pool Spa heaters: An installation guide

105 7
Pool spa heaters are basically heating devices used in swimming pools as well as spas. These heating devices increase the temperature of spa rooms. By using a pool-spa heater, you can use your spa throughout the year. This allows you to enjoy your spa-session even more. You can also control the temperature of the water as per your requirements.
Here are some ways in which you can save money on energy bills and ensure that your spa stays cozy at the same time.

Installation of pool spa heaters
Contrary to what many people think, installing pool spa heaters is not a difficult task. Here are some ways in which you can complete this task on your own:
You should begin by lighting the pilot light which is placed inside the heater door. Ensure that you turn the switch on and then off. Stay patient as you will have to wait for at least five minutes. This ensures that there is no gas build-up. You will then have to push in the gas valve knob along with the safelight matchless lighter igniter. This takes around 30 minutes. You can also check if the pilot light is lit by checking in the mirror, which is located underneath.

Adjust your Thermostat
You should then adjust your thermostat. This is essential so that the temperature remains under control. Keep in mind that 78 degrees Fahrenheit is the most recommended pool water temperature. This temperature has been recommended by the American Red Cross and the National Spa and Pool Institute. You should then start the heater pump and adjust the thermostat to the preferred setting. Lock the temp-lock function in order to maintain the temperature of the spa. The temperature of the spa then remains steady throughout.

Set the water temperature
You should then set the water temperature. Set it at a temperature which is appropriate as per your requirements. This can be done by setting the heater pump dial to 10. Adjust the temperature ranging from 70 degrees to 110 degrees. The temperature can also be adjusted by changing the dial from counter-clockwise to clockwise.

When you are not using the spa
Many people leave the thermostat unchanged even when they are not using it. You should always set the thermostat to a lower temperature when not in use. This will reduce the electricity expenditure manifold. Similarly, you should always switch off the heater pump filter while cleaning the spa room or your pool. If you don't clean the spa room, it is possible that it might affect the heater.
You can also hire a professional to assist you in the above mentioned installation procedure. Keep these simple points in mind and install the pool spa heater.
