Information about the Camino Fisterra, an alternative ending to the Camino de Santiago. Most Caminos end in Santiago, but this one begins there. It is a popular destination for atheists and others who are not interested in the Christian significance of the Camino.

• Notes Before the Camino de Santiago was a Christian pilgrimage, it was a pagan event. The old destination of the pilgrimage (some would say the real destination) was Fisterra (Finisterre in Galician), the most westerly point of the Roman Empire and at the time believed to be the end of the earth.
  Many people have the intention of walking all the way to Finisterra but, after the jubilation of reaching Santiago de Compostela, many can't face another trek, especially one is difficult as this (there are few refuges, so the stages are long).
