Specifications for a 2003 Honda CR-V
- Honda first introduced the CR-V in 1996, with the company expecting it to do well. However, it did not expect the vehicle to sell triple the projected units. The CR-V quickly became one of the automaker's best-selling vehicles and underwent a major redesign in 2002. There were not many changes for the 2003 model year. Eight different trim levels were offered during this model year, including two front-wheel drive options and six four-wheel-drive options.
- Even though there were eight different trim styles, only one engine was available on the 2003 Honda CR-V. The 2.4L four cylinder engine was rated at 160hp with 162 lb.-ft. of torque. The fuel economy for this engine was rated at 21/25 for the four-wheel drive models and 23/28 for the front-wheel drive models.
A four-speed automatic transmission was offered on three of the four-wheel drive models and both front-wheel drive models. All other models featured a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive. - The LX model came in four different flavors: the base LX 4x4, the LX 4x4 with front side airbags, the LX 4x4 with a four-speed automatic transmission and the LX 4x4 with the automatic transmission and front-side airbags. The next level up was the EX, which was offered as a base 4x4 and a 4x4 with an automatic transmission.
The two trim styles that offered front-wheel drive were the LX and the LX with front-side airbags. - Air conditioning, power windows and locks were offered as standard equipment across all of the trim styles. A sunroof was offered as standard on the EX models. Leather interior trim and power seats were not offered as standard equipment on any of the 2003 models.
All of the trim styles featured four doors and could seat up to five adults. All models featured front driver and passenger side airbags, or consumers could choose the models that offered side airbags in addition. ABS brakes were offered standard only on the EX models. - The exterior length for the 2003 Honda CR-V was calculated at 178.6 inches. The vehicle width was 70.2 inches and the overall height was 66.2 inches. The wheelbase for all models was 103 inches and the turning radius was 17.1 feet.
The curb weight for this vehicle ranged between 3,201 and 3,287 pounds depending on which trim style and drivetrain was selected. The maximum trailer weight for all models was 1,500 pounds.
