In prior generations, if you walked into a bodybuilding club and asked about kettlebell exercises, you likely will receive a number of quizzical looks.
Even though kettlebells have been employed by athletes in Russia for well over a hundred years, they have only recently been introduced to the rest of the world.
So, why are kettlebells all the rage now? The popularity of kettlebell exercises is vast because kettlebells work.
They can help you get your overall physique in shape and enhance the development of your abs.
Of course, there will be those that wonder why kettlebell exercises are so helpful.
The reason is fairly obvious.
Working out with kettlebells will engage ALL the muscles in the body and enhance its overall muscular development.
This, in turn, can greatly boost the ability to present ripped abs.
Here is why: Kettlebell exercises build up the entire body from top to bottom because kettlebells mostly involve swings combined with a somewhat explosive squat.
Again, that requires the use of every muscle fiber in the body.
What kettlebell exercises should you start with? Here are two very common kettlebell exercises you will find in a bodybuilding club: The Basic Swing This somewhat looks like hiking a football.
You would reach down, grab the kettlebell, hike it between your legs, and straighten in the form of a squat an contract all the muscles in your body.
They should be tightened as the bell reaches shoulder level.
Once the bell is at shoulder level, you need to hike it down back to the starting position.
Repeat for the desired number of reps.
The Shoulder Press This is performed in the same manner as the basic swing with the main difference being with each swing, you will "holster" the bell at chest level and then perform a one-armed military press.
Once the press reaches full extension, you would bring it own to the holding position and then perform the next swing and rep.
There are a few reasons why these exercises help develop the abdominals.
One reason is that even though it is not noticeable from watching someone perform the exercises, you will be contracting the abs when you stand erect.
This tightens the abs and aids in building up all the abdominal muscles.
There will be a response when you contract your abdominals.
Among these responses would be tighter ab muscles.
Of course, in order to actually see the abdominal muscles, you will need to reduce your body fat percentage.
If you perform kettlebell exercises with low weights and high repetitions, you will burn through a great many calories.
When you are swinging and lifting moderately heavy weight, you will build up your lean muscle mass.
Lean muscle mass development will have a significant effect on the human body - it increases the seed of your metabolism.
The faster your metabolism, the more calories you will burn and the less fat you will carry on your frame.
That means you will lose fat in the ab region which means your six pack will likely be visible.
Kettlebell exercises truly are the perfect inclusion to any serious abdominal workout strategy.
The bottom line is they deliver results.
Consider that the main reason why they are so recommended.
