Herbal Supplement for Allergies

Chamommile and Eucalyptus

• Chamomile is an herb that has antihistamine properties. It is helpful in treating asthma and allergies. Chamomile flowers are used in teas and tinctures. They are also available in creams, and can be used in compresses on the skin.
  Eucalyptus essential oil is helpful with clearing clogged nasal passages. It is the primary ingredient in Vick's. Eucalyptus leaves are used in essential oils in aromatherapy, are helpful with vapor and steam inhalations, along with herbal supplements and teas.
  Apply the essential oil in a diluted state to the chest for a warming rub, to ease allergies and respiratory infections.
  
  

Ginger and Nettle

• Ginger is one the most widely used herbal supplements on the planet. It has many applications, and is helpful in dealing with allergies and sinus infections. Raw ginger is especially effective in ridding the body of infections. Ginger is available in raw form, in teas, in capsules and tinctures. To make a ginger tea, combine 3/4 tsp. of chopped up ginger with 1 cup of boiling water and steep for five minutes. Strain and drink. This will help relieve allergic symptoms.
  The roots of the nettle plant are helpful in dealing with allergies. Nettle is an expectorant and sinus inflammation reducer. It is available in teas, and in loose form.
  
  

Rooibos and St. Johns Wort

• Rooibos tea has antiviral properties making it helpful with infection. Rooibos also is an antispasmodic, and is an anti-allergy herb, helping in the treatment of allergies. This particular herb contains more than 37 antioxidants, as well as vitamin C and minerals.
  St. John's Wort is widely available and is helpful with clearing the lungs of excess mucus associated with allergies. St. John's Wort has a strong expectorant action, and helps with recovery from colds and flu, as well as symptoms of allergies.
