- 1). Right-click on your desktop, then mouse over the "New" option and select "Shortcut" from the context menu. The "New Shortcut Wizard" will now initialize.
- 2). Type "rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation" into the location field (must be exact), then click "Next."
- 3). Type a name for the shortcut (such as "Lock Computer"), then click "Finish." Your shortcut will now be created on your desktop.
- 4). Click and drag the shortcut to the Quick Launch section of your taskbar. (The Quick Launch section is the section of the taskbar that contains program shortcuts--on the left side next to the "Start" menu.)
