Cruise visitors to Jamaica, as well as visitors staying in hotels and private villas, don't have to join expensive shore excursions or routine travel-agency tours to make the most of a short visit to Jamaica. Safe, knowledgeable tour guides and drivers, quality assured through the Jamaica Union of Travelers Association (JUTA), can provide more personalized tours to island beauty spots and landmarks or organized tours around special interests and themes. - Guides from Jamaica-Tour take resort guests and cruise passengers on tours that avoid the overcrowded run-of-the-mill tourist experiences. Guides are uniformed and English speaking, as well as licensed and insured by JUTA. They average about 12 years of experience so they know Jamaica well and are proud to show it off.
Tours leave several times a day from cruise ships and other pick-up points in the ports of Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. They range from sightseeing and shopping to activities such as beach horseback riding and zip-line adventures in Jamaica's tropical canopy. The company will also offer quotes on alternative, private tour arrangements. All trip prices include round-trip transportation and admissions. Meals and drinks are included in some tours.

jamaica-tour.com - Clive Gordon, past president of the Negril Chapter of JUTA, has been providing taxi and tour services in Jamaica for 10 years. He offers a selection of tours designed to highlight particular areas of the island and will also make arrangements for special, private sightseeing tours. Prices for tours are based on pick-up points in Negril, Lucea and Montego Bay but he will offer quotations on other pick-up and drop-off points around Jamaica.
In addition to coastal sightseeing tours and guided visits to Montego Bay, Clive's drivers offer special interest excursions to golf courses, Bob Marley landmarks, zip-line and scuba adventures and overnight destinations such as Kingston and Port Antonio. Tour prices cover guide services and round-trip transportation but do not include meals, entries and accommodations.

clivestransportservicejamaica.com - Meet The People is a free introduction service, through the Jamaica Tourist Board, matching local people with visitors of similar interests. The program, which has been running for more than 20 years, involves 700 local volunteers, both adults and children (as playmates for visiting children). Arrangements are made through application to the Jamaica Tourist Board. Once a visitor's dates are set, a tourist board coordinator selects a suitable local volunteer and organizes meeting arrangements.
The program offers visitors a very personal welcome to Jamaica and the opportunity to participate with local people in island activities, from hiking and shopping at craft or food markets to church visits and family hospitality.
