Licensed practical nurses, or LPNs, care for the sick, administer medication and offer rehab treatment working alongside registered nurses and doctors. In the state of Minnesota, there are a variety of programs for students interested in becoming a LPN. - Located in the same city as the renowned Mayo Clinic, Rochester Community and Technical College trains LPNs in a city known for its health care. The 2-year program requires a high school diploma or GED as well as a 2.0 grade point average. For the 2009-2010 academic year, tuition and fees were about $5,000.

rctc.edu - A 2-year community and technical college located on the edge of downtown Minneapolis, Minneapolis Community and Technical College, or MCTC, was created in 1996 with the merger of one technical and one community college. MCTC has LPN and Associate's of Nursing programs as well as a Nursing Mobility Program designed to train LPNs to become registered nurses. Tuition and fees in 2009 were about $4,700 per year.
