- 1). Turn around your computer's case. On the back panel of the case will be your sound card. Your existing computer speakers (if you have them) will be already plugged into your sound card.
- 2). Locate the audio cables that run off of your audio device. Look at the colors on the plastic plugs on the ends of the cables. These colors correspond with the same colored input that each cable needs to be connected to on your computer's sound card. Plug all audio cables that run off of your audio device into the inputs on your Windows XP sound card.
- 3). Plug your audio device into a wall outlet. This may not be necessary, depending on the type of audio device you have.
- 4). Insert your audio device's driver CD into your Windows XP CD-ROM drive. This driver CD came with your audio device.
- 5). Click "Start" and then click "My Computer." Right-click the driver CD's icon and click "Autorun." This will launch the driver installation wizard. Click "Install." Your audio device's driver will now be installed in Windows XP. Restart your computer and you will immediately be able to use your audio device when Windows XP boots back up.
