    • 1). Use the sand paper to round the edges of both pieces of glass.

    • 2). Clean the edges of both pieces of glass with acetone to remove oil from the glass cutter and dust from the sand paper.

    • 3). Place the first piece of glass on a clean towel. Squeeze a thin and continuous bead of silicone sealer along the top-edge on one of the 12-inch sides. Squeeze a thin and continuous bead of silicone sealer along the top-edge of both of the 3-inch sides.

    • 4). Invert the piece of glass and place it carefully onto the right hand side aquarium rim. Position the glass, so that the 12-inch side lies on top of the 12-inch long side of the aquarium. Push gently down on the piece of glass and smooth out the silicone, by running your finger along the entire area that secures the glass to the rim of the aquarium.

    • 5). Place the second piece of glass on a clean towel. Squeeze a thin and continuous bead of silicone sealer along the top-edge on one of the 12-inch sides. Squeeze a thin and continuous bead of silicone sealer along the top-edge of both of the 3-inch sides.

    • 6). Invert the piece of glass and place it carefully onto the left hand side aquarium rim. Position the glass so that the 12-inch side lies on top of the 12-inch long side of the aquarium. Push gently down on the piece of glass and smooth out the silicone, by running your finger along the entire area that secures the glass to the rim of the aquarium.

    • 7). Allow the silicone 24 hours to cure.

    • 8). Invert the horizontal metal halide unit and place it gently onto a towel on the work surface.

    • 9). Slide the first leg glide into place on the underneath of the right side of the metal halide light unit.

      Slide the second leg glide into place on the underneath of the left side of the metal halide light unit.

      Turn the metal halide light unit over and place its leg glides carefully onto the two strips of glass that are secured to the top of the aquarium.

      Position the electrical cable from the metal halide light down the back of the aquarium, on the outside of the glass.

      Place the plug from the metal halide light unit into the electrical timer and set the timer to run from 08:30 to 20:30.

      Plug the electrical timer into a wall power point. Turn on the wall power point. Switch on the metal halide unit.
