    • 1). Drink six to eight glasses of water a day. According to the theory of how water helps reduce appetite, proponents state that the human needs far more water than we actually get, and that we unknowingly mistake hunger for thirst. When the body is hydrated, hunger signals back off.

    • 2). Eat pistachios. The reports on these nuts state that they reduce appetite in both direct and indirect ways. First, they contain cholecystokinin, which tells the brain that you're full. Also, they contain the minerals and vitamins that create a calm, relaxed and loved feeling, helping to reduce appetite based on emotions.

    • 3). Make sure some of your weekly exercise is high intensity. This has been reported to trigger hormones that reduce appetite. A nice long leisurely walk is great, or a gentle jogging routine or Pilates workout. But make sure you get at least three high intensity ones (very brisk walking, for example, for a shorter amount of time, say, 20 minutes). If you don't exercise regularly, but instead work exercise into your lifestyle such as with gardening or walking at work as much as possible, find a way to go briskly up and down the stairs or make your walk from work to your car a more high intensity workout to reduce appetite.
