How to Upgrade Video Drivers
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel."
- 2). Click "System and Maintenance" and click "Device Manager" to launch the Device Manager if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7. For Windows XP, click "System" and click "Hardware." Click "Device Manager" to launch the Device Manager.
- 3). Scroll down the Device Manager and click "+" next to "Display Adapters" to expand it. Right-click your video display driver under "Display Adapters" and click "Update Driver."
- 4). Insert your Windows installation CD into the CD/DVD-ROM drive and select the "Install software automatically" radio button. Click "Next." The driver installation wizard searches for and installs the driver from the installation CD.
- 5). Write down your computer model and serial number if you are unable to update the video driver from the CD. Your serial number is generally located on the back or front of the computer.
- 6). Go to your computer manufacturer's webpage and locate the "Support and Drivers" section. Type in your computer model number and serial number to see a list of the drivers that are compatible with your computer.
- 7). Locate the video display drivers and click "Download." Click "Run" and install the video driver on your computer. When prompted, restart your computer.
