oBe Objective-don't take it personally oLet them solve their own problems, unless there is danger.
oProvide opportunities to be with peer group oTeach the unwritten rules of life & likeability oDon't push them to be in "the" group oHelp them findpositive in every situation o Blame, shame and focusing on the pain won't work..

oWatch for and teach importance of body language and facial expressions oHelp them to understand personal space oAssist them in regulating tone of voice and laughter oHelp them develop a passionate interest in something oTeach when approaching a group, ask someone other than the leader to join.
oHave them write a list of what they are looking for in a friend oHave them write a list of what they have to offer as a friend oTeach them to smile and say hello.
Appear open and approachable oWork together to give service and help others oRemind them that this too shall pass.
We all develop friendships for different reasons, when a friendship ends; it may just mean you have learned all you needed from each other, someone else will come along soon.
o Model friendly and kindactions in relationships oBuild your child up, not tear others down oExpress confidence in their ability to be a good friend and to draw others to them.
