The Barcelona Museum Pass is cheap and gets you in for free at some of the best art museums in Barcelona. The ARQUEOticket is even cheaper, but only gets you into history-related museums. The Barcelona Card gives more free activities than the other two cards and includes free public transport, but it is more expensive and is limited to two to five days' usage.

What Do the Barcelona Discount Cards Get You For Free?

Note that the activities included differ widely. The Barcelona Card may have the most free activities, but they are not necessarily the best. And free transport isn't as good a deal as it may sound, as public transport in Barcelona is cheap.

• How to Get Your Money's Worth The prices of each sight is listed above. In general, visiting three museums will cover your entry price (only two if one is La Pedrera, four if one is Barcelona Centre of Contemporary Culture)
• Compared to Barcelona ARQUEOticket There is no overlap between these two cards. If you are looking for archeology and history, go for the ARQUEOticket. If you're interested in art and architecture, get the Barcelona Museum Pass. If you are interested in both, get both!
• Compared to Barcelona Card The Barcelona Museum Pass only has seven activities included, while the Barcelona Card has 16 free attractions, lots of discounts and free public transport. Having said that, the free activities on the Museum Pass are much better than the ones on the Barcelona Card (the best ones on the Card are also on the Museum Pass), the Museum Pass is cheaper and you aren't restricted with the days you can use it. The public transport on the Card is nice, but public transport is cheap in Barcelona - it's unlikely you'll spend more than 15 euros a week on metro tickets. For me, the Barcelona Museum Pass is far superior to the Barcelona Card.

    • Archaeology Museum of Catalonia 3€
    • Barcelona's History Museum 7€.
      Only the last one of these museums features in our Top 100 Things to Do in Barcelona, but that doesn't mean they're not worth visiting, just that they are of slightly more specialist interest.
      
  • How to Get Your Money's Worth As you can see, most of these museums are very cheap in the first place. To get your money's worth, you must visit the Egyptian museum and one other, or all four of the other museums.
  • Compared to Barcelona Museum Pass See above. (Conclusion: Museum Pass for art, ARQUEOticket for history, both for both!)
  • Compared to Barcelona Card There is some slight overlap between these two discount cards: the Barbier-Mueller and the history museums feature on both cards, leaving only three unique museums on the ARQUEOticket. But the ARQUEOticket is much cheaper and doesn't force you to use it in a short period of time. If your interest is history and you can't justify the Barcelona Card, the ARQUEOticket is for you.
