How to Make Custom Shower Curtain
- 1). Purchase your fabric. If it has a pattern, make sure that you have at least one pattern repeat.
- 2). Cut two panels of fabric 88" long. This will allow for 8 inches of hem on each end.
- 3). Take one panel and cut it in half lengthwise.
- 4). Pin the right sides of each half of the split panel to the right side of the full-sized panel. Make sure the patterns line up.
- 5). Sewing the panels together using a 1/2 inch seam allowance along the selvage edge.
- 6). On each side edge, turn the edge under 1/2 inch, then another 1/2 inch and hem.
- 7). For top hem, turn the edge under 1 inch, then another 1 and hem.
- 8). Repeat step 7 with the bottom edge, except fold the edge under 3 inches each time.
- 9). Add grommets or buttonholes to the top hem for the shower curtain rings. Typically, they should start and end 3 inches from each end with 6 inches separating each ring.
