How to Make Chocolate Dipped Dog Biscuits
- 1). Stir together 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup cornmeal, 2/3 cup nonfat powdered milk and 1 cup old-fashioned oats in a large mixing bowl.
- 2). Form a well in the center of the dry ingredients.
- 3). Pour 1/2 cup melted bacon fat or one stick of melted butter into the center of the well.
- 4). Add 3/4 cup of water and 1 egg to the well.
- 5). Stir everything together until a dough forms. It should be the same consistency as sugar cookie dough.
- 6). Roll the dough out on a floured surface with a rolling pin.
- 7). Cut out dog bone shapes, or any other shape you want, with cookie cutters.
- 8). Spray a cookie sheet lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
- 9). Place the biscuits on the cookie sheet.

Bake the biscuits at 350 degrees F for about eight minutes. The biscuits are done when the bottoms are a light golden brown. - 11
Set the baked dog biscuits on a counter to cool. - 12
Boil water in the bottom pot of a double boiler. - 13
Pour 1/2 cup of carob chips and 1 tsp. of canola oil into the top pot of the double boiler. - 14
Place the top pot containing carob chips and canola oil over the boiling water and allow the chips to melt slowly, stirring occasionally. - 15
Dip cooled biscuits into the melted carob chips. - 16
Place dipped dog biscuits on wax paper to harden.
