Jeevika, the elder sister in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, is mature and calm while Manvi is an outgoing and chirpy girl who wishes to be happy and wants to stand by her sister even in worst of times. Later, in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Jeevika gets married to Viren (Karan Tacker) Vadhera, an advocate from Chandigarh. The sisters finally have to live separately but there bond strengthens over time. Manvi falls for Viren's younger brother, Viraat Vadhera (Kushal Tandon) but when she discovers that she has cancer she tries to stop him.
Viraat, however, refuses to leave her in this condition and instead becomes more devoted to her. In the process he becomes responsible and learns more about life. But as days pass by medication takes a rather painful turn for Manvi and Jeevika does the ultimate sacrifice for her€¦she donates her bone marrow at the cost of terminating her pregnancy. The ties between the sisters are thus, cemented for life and death.Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain is set in the beautiful Rishikesh. This is a story of two sisters who love each other enough to share their life and breath with each other. Maanvi and Jeevika were raised by their parents in the upscale city of Delhi.
However, they are orphaned in childhood. After they lose their parents, they have to settle into a middle class, traditional family of Rishikesh, which is a stark contrast to their lives earlier. They have to grow up stifling any demands they may have openly made earlier, and have to fit into a traditional mould. Jeevika is older to Maanvi by two years, but she is a lot more mature than her little sister. Maanvi wants to fix everybody elses problems, but in turn tangles it all up.
The role of rescuing Maanvi from every new mess rests with Jeevika. The story revolves around these sisters' undying affection for each other, and how they settle into growing up with old world values. What will happen when Jeevika will marry? Who will look after Maanvi? Thats all about this serial.
