What Type of Coffee Table?

As the title of this article reads, what type of coffee table is right for you and for your home? You probably already know that having one is important, otherwise you wouldn't have come across to read this article in the first place.
When we're not at work or out and about, we want to be able to have some quiet time at home.
During these times, what room do you normally spend your time in? For me, it's the living room.
Here's another question I want to pose - during those nights that you invite friends over for a session of card playing, what room would you use? Again, for me, it's the living room.
For those of you that have a family, this room becomes the place to gather for the family game nights where you probably take out board games like Monopoly or Scrabble.
So it's quite clear the necessity and the purpose of the living room.
As such getting the right coffee table is an essential process that shouldn't be overlooked.
There are several facets going making a purchasing decision but I've broadly brush over two main areas - practicality and design.
These two areas can, at most times, be in conflict with each other, so achieving a balance between the two can be a challenge.
On the practical side of things, you would want to purchase a table that is of the right dimensions and shape for your living room.
In order to get this correct, I would strongly recommend that you go and take the necessary measurements of your room.
In addition to this, you should take note of the shape of the room as well as other furniture in it.
I would take a piece of paper and draw out a rough sketch of the floor plan for just the living room with the various measurements on it.
If you do this, you can take this sketch with you when you go shopping to ensure you get the size right.
It is probably no surprise to you that there are heaps of different designs out in the market.
You can get different materials, colors and the such.
Some people like the appearance of hardwood such as oak and mahogany, whilst others prefer softwood wood like pine.
By appearance, I mean that people may like the dark colors and the natural patterns formed by the wood grain and knots on the table surface.
