Dash Lights Do Two Jobs

102 1
Besides these, there are dash lights on the instrument panel that gets activated on their own when there is something wrong with the brake or battery or anything within the engine. When these flash a yellow light, the danger level is low but when they are red, the problem should be immediately attended to. Dash lights are of two types - those, which the driver uses to warn others, and those, which warn the driver that everything is not right about the car. Both are important in their own way and do a fine job.

Emergency vehicles use different types of dash lights to warn other vehicles on the street, variously to get the way cleared or to get another vehicle to stop. There are single and dual LED lights that do this job, and are available in colors like red, blue, amber, and white. Even single LED lights may have more than 25 flash patterns and dual ones will have much more. LED lights always come with easily mountable magnetic mounts, or swivel mounting brackets with suction cups. The mounting mechanism of these dash lights is such that they can easily be shifted from vehicle to vehicle.

There are also strobe dash lights, which can be used as vehicle warning lights or as a light for emergencies within the vehicles. These come in the same colors as LED lights and have a variety of flash patterns. There are also small halogen lights used for inside help or outside warning. Undercover police use hideaway lights that they can turn on during emergencies. All these are lights for the car owner to activate when he likes. There is another type that light up on its own, activating car owners to do certain jobs. These flash when the car has a problem. When the brake is not at optimum functioning level, or oil level is low, or battery is down, or engine needs checking, these dash lights flash either a yellow signal or red signal.

When the dash lights indicative of fluid level flash a yellow light, it means that any of the fluids like brake fluid, engine oil, or transmission fluid is low. The user should ideally check the fluid level as early as possible. Still, a yellow flash of lights is not a danger signal, which means that he could wait till he reaches home or reaches a service station where he can get it checked. But if the same dash lights flash a red light, it is a warning of a full measure problem with any of the fluids. If it happens while driving, the driver needs to pull over and verify the problem.

Blinking yellow dash lights tell the driver to give the car for servicing, whereas blinking red lights tell him to stop immediately and not to proceed without solving the problem. Especially when the lights for 'check engine' flash red, the problem should be dealt with immediately. In short, dash lights are cute creatures that will do the job according to the user's bidding as well as make the user do the job that it indicates.
