- 1). Use plenty of line and make a Palomar knot to attach the hook to the line. To tie a Palomar knot, make a bight in the end of your fishing line then pass it through the hook eye. Tie an overhand knot with the bight then pass it over the hook and down around the knot. Lubricate the knot and then pull the standing and tag ends.
- 2). Take the tag end and pass it through the hook eye to allow the hook to sit upright on the line.
- 3). Pass the drop shot weight through the line and pull the line tightly through the crimp to secure the weight. Cut off tag end.
- 4). Thread the tip of the worm lure through the hook.
