Tuna fishing can be extremely exciting as these fish provide as good a fight, pound for pound, as any fish out there. They can also be a bit challenging to find so it is recommended you seek out a fishing guide to help you with your next tuna fishing trip. There are several in the Oregon area that can provide you with a great experience. - Captain's Reel is located in Newport, Oregon near the Oregon-Washington border. They travel up to 100 miles offshore looking for tuna during the July through October season. Trips are either 12 or 18 hours long and range from $220 to $315 per person. There must be a minimum of 10 people to make a trip, up to a maximum of 18. One-day licenses are available on site.

The boat can handle up to six fishermen with the trip costing $225 per person. All bait and tackle is provided but you are responsible for your food and fishing license.
