Tuna fishing can be extremely exciting as these fish provide as good a fight, pound for pound, as any fish out there. They can also be a bit challenging to find so it is recommended you seek out a fishing guide to help you with your next tuna fishing trip. There are several in the Oregon area that can provide you with a great experience. - Captain's Reel is located in Newport, Oregon near the Oregon-Washington border. They travel up to 100 miles offshore looking for tuna during the July through October season. Trips are either 12 or 18 hours long and range from $220 to $315 per person. There must be a minimum of 10 people to make a trip, up to a maximum of 18. One-day licenses are available on site.

The boat can handle up to six fishermen with the trip costing $225 per person. All bait and tackle is provided but you are responsible for your food and fishing license. You can keep all the fish you catch and processing is available nearby for a fee.
