Should We Be Concerned About Our Health As We Get Older?

103 1
As we get older time seems to past so much more quickly.
It seems like yesterday when we were only 20 and living life to the full no matter how bad a lifestyle we were leading.
As we get older we have to realise that we cannot get away with some of the things that we could get away with when we were in our early twenties.
It comes down to the quality of life that we want as we get older and these need to be determined by health and illness.
These two aspects can relate to how we both feel physically and emotionally.
If we feel happiness or depression then this can contribute to how healthy or ill we are.
In order to live a longer and healthier life then we must become more aware of how our body is aging.
The point I made early is that we cannot live like we were when we were twenty When we are in our fifties and sixties the body cannot produce the same energy that we could when we were younger.
When we were younger we could get away with drinking too much, eating unhealthy food and a lack of sleep.
As we get older our body changes.
Usually after the age of 25 the body begins to lose its muscle mass and brain cells.
When reach into our fifties our bodies can begin to degenerate at a faster pace than before.
It is because of this degenerative process that we should begin to look at our lifestyle and change to a healthier one to slow down the aging process.
When we become more aware of how our body ages then we can begin to choose the right strategies that will enable us to improve our health and vitality.
In order to become fit and healthy you need to be serious about it and make a commitment to yourself that you will follow through.
Many people begin with good intentions as they start a weight loss diet or exercise program but give in at the first sign of an obstacle and return to their place on the couch.
Therefore, you must decide that you really want to change.
You can make it easier on yourself if you do something that you enjoy doing.
For example, if you find running on a treadmill boring then turn on the TV while you're having a workout.
If you do not like working out on your own then, choose a team sport and get your friends involved.
The key thing is to enjoy yourself while getting fit.
Always consult with your physicians if you have a health condition or food allergy before changing or doing any form of new exercise or diet.
