How to Cool a Graphics Card
- 1). Wipe off the dust around the graphics card vent, located on the back of the computer. If this vent is full of dust, it is going to prevent air from flowing into the computer, cooling the card.
- 2). Spray compressed air into the vents around the graphics card. This removes dust on the inside and around the graphics card that may cause it to overheat.
- 3). Move the computer away from a wall so it is able to receive circulated air.
- 4). Place a fan behind the computer so it is constantly blowing air into the computer system. This helps cool down not only the graphics card but the rest of the computer.
- 5). Purchase a graphics card that has a built in fan on the processor (if you are on the market for a new graphics card). This fan helps keep the graphic card processor from overheating.
