How to Get Rid of Bugs in Cabinets
- 1). Remove the food from the cabinet and look inside all the packages for infestation.
- 2). Vacuum the shelves, especially in the corners, to get rid of hard-to-see pests. Wrap the vacuum cleaner's bag in another bag and throw it out immediately to prevent bugs from escaping and returning to the house.
- 3). Scrub the shelves really well with sudsy, hot water. Let them dry thoroughly.
- 4). Spray the pantry area with a kitchen-safe insecticide and close the cabinet door for at least four hours.
- 1). Throw away old food products in boxes or paper packaging.
- 2). Mix together roach bait from equal parts of sugar and boric acid.
- 3). Sprinkle in corners and cracks where you have seen roaches, or pour some into jar lids to put under the cabinet.
- 1). Clean out the area with soap and water to get rid of the scent trail that the ants were following.
- 2). Mix one part boric acid powder to 20 parts sugar, and sprinkle on heavy ant-traffic areas leading in and out of cabinets.
- 3). Sweep up the bait and throw it away after ants are no longer visible.
- 4). Clean the cabinet thoroughly before replacing food in it.
