How to Turn a PDF File Into a JPEG

    Print-Screen Method

    • 1). Open your PDF in a full screen window. Press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. It is located in the upper right hand corner, between the "F12" and "Scroll Lock" buttons. Note that no indication will be given on your screen to acknowledge you have pressed the print screen button.

    • 2). Open Microsoft Paint. Click "Edit" then "Paste" from the top Toolbar Menu.

    • 3). Select "File" then "Save As" from the top Toolbar Menu. In the window that appears, select a location on your hard drive for the document. Type a new file name in the box labeled "File Name". Select "JPEG" from the drop-down menu under "File Type". Click "Save" to finish.

    Universal Document Converter Method

    • 1). Download the Universal Document Converter program (see Resources). The download is free and installation will take minutes.

    • 2). Open the PDF file from your hard drive. Select "File" from the top Toolbar menu, and then select "Print". A "Print" window will appear. Choose "Universal Document Converter" from the drop down menu in the upper left corner of the Print window under "Name".

    • 3). Select the "Properties" button in the upper right corner of the Print window. A new properties window will appear. Select "Load Settings".

    • 4). Double-click the file labeled "PDF to JPEG.xml" in the next window which appears. Click "Open" to continue. Click "OK" in the Properties box. The document will be automatically converted and opened in Windows Picture Viewer.

    • 5). Click the floppy disk icon in the bottom right portion of the Windows Picture Viewer screen. This is the save button. Choose a file name and location on your hard drive where you would like to store the document. Click "Save" to finish.
