Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has indicated that the indoor air quality in some homes may be up to five times more polluted than the air outside of a home.
Much of this indoor air contamination may be caused by the chemical residues left behind from commercially produced cleaning products.
If you have been using commercial cleaning products in your home and there is an abundance of debris, dust, or other material in the ducts of your heating and air conditioning system, those chemical residues could be collecting there.
When you turn on your air conditioning or heating system, those contaminants may be spread throughout your house.

The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) states there is a definite improvement in air quality after ducts are cleaned.
They also recommend that duct cleaning be done every three to five years.
While the EPA and the NADCA may not agree on how often they should be cleaned, they do agree that there is definite value in cleaning the air ducts in your home.
Having Your Air Ducts Cleaned and Green Cleaning When making the transition to green cleaning, it just makes sense to get rid of all the chemical contaminants in your house.
If you suspect the condition of your ducts is unhealthy, it would be good idea to have them inspected by a reputable HVAC specialist.
