When Moving Home, Protect Your Belongings With The Right Packing Boxes For Less.
Most companies will see the mutually beneficial situation for both of you, they are able to cheaply discard their used materials and you are winning by obtaining free cardboard boxes or other packing materials. By seeking out local companies and encouraging them to recycle in this way, everyone is able to save money and be pro-active in the environmental movement. The idea being that recycling locally is benefiting the planet globally.
Most retail and grocery chains throw away lots of barely used brown boxes everyday of the week, but you need to ask as government regulations may force them to show documented recycling stats. Boxes are something that bulk retail stores, music companies, restaurants and other businesses throw away also, so taking the initiative to call around will eventually lead to more free packing supplies. If you are able to haul the crushed boxes away for them is even better, usually that is the way to seal the deal.
Local manufacturing companies are always having incoming and outgoing shipments that leave them with used boxes and materials. These companies are usually forced to pay for the hauling and disposal of the packaging wastes, so make them an offer to take it away free for them weekly. They may even be in the position to offer a fee for your hauling services too, plus what you do not use you may be able to recycle for some profit as well.
Other ways to find free boxes and packaging materials are available, if you want to do a little more searching. Currently you can obtain free packaging for priority and express mail boxes from the United States Postal Service, all you have to do is order them online and they will deliver them to you free of charge. This may not last forever with changes in the postal system, so get them while you can. Another way to find good boxes is to search the free sections of online classified websites. Almost every day of the week there is one or more companies that are giving away their unused packaging and boxes, all you have to do is make contact with them to pick them up. If neither of these routes pans out for you, then just keep an eye out in your local neighbourhood whenever someone is moving in or out of a home nearby. There are always extra boxes being thrown out by moving families that can be recycled and used.
One more tip to keep in mind, is that there are always tons of free cardboard boxes, gift boxes, packing materials, and wrapping paper being thrown away during the holiday seasons. Especially the day after Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, anywhere you live will have lots of lightly used and recyclable boxes to make use of. All you have to do is fish them out of the garbage cans or dumpsters in your area, but it is guaranteed that you will find some amazingly good packaging and boxes on any of those days following a major holiday.
Finding used boxes and packing materials is not as hard as it seems, but it may require learning to literally think outside of the box.
