Phong Nha Cave - Just Getting More Excited Every Visit

14 years ago when I first visited Phong Nha - Ke Bang cave in a peaceful evening, the place was totally a land of wilderness.
That day I followed the steps of a "mixed" exploring team of Vietnamese scientists (Hanoi National University) and the Britain Cave Royal Association (BCRA) conducting the 3rd exploring trip to the cave system of Phong Nha - Ke Bang.
And this has turned into a breakthrough trip with groundbreaking news to the world.
Started by the pioneers It was not until the late 90s of the first exploration of BCRA that the Phong Nha cave system was brought out to the world.
The Vietnamese people know about this cave through the carving of it in the main hall of old Hue Palace.
In 1824, Minh Mang king had announced Phong Nha as a national treasure, and Cadiere - a French adventurer - had once gasped the place as "The best cave in Indochina".
In 1924, the English adventurer Barton after exploring Phong Nha cave had to admit that this place could stand among the most famous caves in the world like Cuevas del Drach (Spain) or Padirac (France), etc.
In an evening of 1994, at Son Trach People Committee Office, Dr.
Howard Limbert director of BCRA announced: "After the two trips (in 1990 and 1992), we have not only discovered the Phong Nha cave is length of 7,729 meters but also discovered some dozens of caves in the system such as the 13,969-meter Vom cave, 2,800-meter Ruc Ca Ron cave, etc.
" More important, in this expedition, Phong Nha cave has been rated by BCRA to be the most beautiful water cave in the world that satisfies the seven global standards as follow: longest water cave, highest and most beautiful entrance, most beautiful rock and sand filed, most beautiful underwater lake, largest and most beautiful dry cave, longest underwater river.
To a never-ending collection of wonders After each expedition of BCRA, the new discovers of Phong Nha - Ke Bang are announced with many excitingly surprises.
I still remember when I was given the photos taken by the most modern equipment of BCRA experts (that was the first time this cave revealed to the public after million years in the dark).
Dr.
Howard Limbert added: "This is just a very tiny part of Phong Nha".
Until the year of 2007, the Vietnamese and English scientists have published stunning numbers that shocked the world to those that was published 18 years ago: 300 caves in all sizes in Phong Nha - Ke Bang cave system with the best values of a world is most beautiful cave should be.
Professor Nguyen Quang My (National University of Hanoi) who has more than 40 years exploring caves in Vietnam and the world had to say: "I am retired on the documents only because my veins are still hot with the cave exploration.
And the expedition of it will be a lifetime experience in my career and my life as well.
This is also a chance for the world to get to know about this beautiful country of Vietnam, where there are a lot of world wonders to impress international friends".
