105 1
As one of the most popular counted-thread embroidery technique is widely used to decorate clothes with pictures and designs. It is known as "Crossstitch," since most of the times the user needs to make an X over an easily countable "even-weave" fabric that is similar to a grid. For beginners, cross stitch kits and a little knowledge is all required to learn.

These kits serve as an excellent accessory if you want to learn the counted thread embroidery method. With all the supplies available in a single packet, you can easily concentrate on learning. After completing the first assignment or project, most individuals find the entire designing process an easy one, as they just need to follow the instructions or the guidelines. However, the level of complexities increase depending on the kits, or if the designer wants to decorate or enhance the project. The cross stitch supplies in the kits mainly include fabric, DMC floss, a hoop and needles.

Today, there are various types of embroidery kits available in the market. However, stamped cross stitch kits and counted cross stitch kits are more popular in comparison to other kits. As the name suggests, stamped kits come with a stamped or print on the fabric, whereas in the counted kits, the user needs to read the pattern and work over the fabric. The previous one is simpler and mainly used by beginners to learn, while the latter requires the user to count and read charts or pattern to create the end product.

It is a popular belief that if you are familiar with the "Tic-Tac-Toe" game, you can easily make the main stitch used in the stitching, since it is similar to making X. You just need to move the needle up from the top corner in the grid fabric, and move it down to the diagonal opposite bottom corner, then executing the same process on the opposite sides of the grid to make the X.

In addition, it is also important not to tie a knot in your stitch floss before the stitch. It is advisable to leave a tail and fold it. Additionally, keeping the fabric in an embroidery loop helps the user to hold the fabric, while the stitching work performed. Once the stitching is complete, users can either get the design framed and hanged or included it in other larger projects such as pillow, bed sheet or hand towels. These designs are excellent gifts for wedding, birthdays or baby showers too!
