How to Charge Type AGM Batteries

    • 1). Place the AGM battery and charger next to each other near an electrical outlet.

    • 2). Squeeze the red, positive alligator clip to open it. Place the jaws around the positive terminal on the battery and release the clip. Repeat this process to attach the black, negative alligator clip on the negative battery terminal.

    • 3). Plug the charger into an electrical outlet and turn it on. There should be a green indicator light showing that the charger is working.

    • 4). Set the amperage on the charger to the same amperage on the battery label. Small AGM batteries for motorcycles are usually two amps, medium batteries for scooters and wheelchairs are generally four amps and boat batteries are six amps.

    • 5). Select AGM on the battery charger to apply the correct amount of charge to it. There will be a green blinking light as the battery charges

    • 6). Remove the alligator clips and unplug the battery charger when the battery charger light turns green and stays steady.
