Consider Your Digital Camera Your Friend
This is the camera I prefer to take on my travels because it is sturdy and light enough to handle on trips and around town or trips to the zoo.
Digital cameras are the greatest invention of the century for novice photographers.
Personally I love the Canon PowerShotG10.
Mostly because of the fit for me.
I need a more sturdy camera than most people.
I have dropped my camera on hikes, out of the car and in my house.
My PowerShot is my friend, we go every-where together.
Find the camera for you and treat it as your friend.
The Canon PowerShotG10 is a nice compact camera with a wide-angle lens that can shoot and deliver quality images.
You do not need extra equipment and lenses like the DSLR class cameras which require them.
The virtual versatility and ease of use you will find with your digital camera will surprise you.
You will definitely find a friend in your digital camera.
The 3 inch LCD viewer is as easy as any digital camera has shown us today.
Even in bright sunlight the images are clear on the LCD viewer.
For point-and-shoot cameras, similar to the Canon PowerShotG10 images have not been quite as clear as the G10.
Its 28-140mm lens is sharp and clean with a 14.
7MP sensor and Digic 4 processor.
The only limits for publishable images would be the 1/1.
7in sensor.
When used at over ISO 100 noise becomes an issue.
This limits capabilities for photography in the handheld situation.
Therefore, use of a lightweight tripod and staying with the base setting of ISO 80 keeps the image quality in the exceptionally good category.
I usually use the Canon PowerShotG10 in automatic mode and get some great JPEG images for use on my computer.
The images are clean and clear as long as you do not try to enlarge them too much.
The best images may be enlarged to a certain extent just not a lot.
The G10 offers a lot more than some other digital cameras in its class.
Some of the top Pros for the Canon PowerShotG10 would be; its ruggedness, excellent 3in LCD, image quality, zoom lens with wide-angle, image stabilization, good battery life and it is a lightweight alternative to a DSLR camera.
The Cons for the Canon PowerShotG10 would be; noise above ISO 100 and the poor optical viewfinder.
I find these two things to be less than a problem.
Because, I am using the Canon PowerShotG10 in the automatic mode most of the time.
