Replacing Old Gutters with New Ones
Before you have gutters replaced, measure the old gutters and downspouts and take note of how many hangers and downspouts there are. These measurements and numbers are your basis for looking for new ones.
Hire a Marietta roofing contractor to mount the new gutters. The old gutters are angled down toward the downspout. A level is often used to install the new gutters. A gutter measuring 35' long should slope from one end down to the corner. If it is longer than 35', the high point may be in the middle with both sides sloping down to a gutter at every corner. A string is held at high point in the middle to snap a chalk line along the edge of the gutter. This chalk line serves as a guide as to where to hang the new gutters.
The next step is removing the downspouts. If the downspout is connected with rivets, it is drilled or the screws are removed. The downspout attachment strap is also removed. The gutters are cut the same length of the fascia from the downspout to the opposite corner of the house. A few inches are measured to attach each piece. The end is capped and the gutters assembled. Each piece goes on the inside of another. This prevents the water from getting caught in seams. The inner seams are then sealed. The gutters are hung before the downspout is attached.
A roofing company with a Marietta painting contractor that can remodel your home can provide copper gutter systems that protect your home. Copper gutter systems are durable and long-lasting. They are made of solid copper which makes them resistant to denting and tearing. They not only protect your home but also offer a new style that enhances the appearance of your home.
