It might sound amazing to you and you might not even want to believe that grass is harder than hardwood.
Bamboo is a type of grass.
But bamboo floors, made out of bamboo shoots, are harder than floors made from hardwood plants like oak and maple.
Now days bamboo floors are the most popular types of.
They are hard, strong and durable.
They give an exquisite touch to the interiors of your home.
Moreover they are made from a renewable resource.
As I said bamboo floors are really hard.
They are harder than red oak and even maple.
They are also very strong and tough.
They are generally installed in those rooms where there is a lot of traffic and the moving of furniture and dropping of object which can cause a lot of scratching.
Bamboo floors absorb all the impact and still remain unscathed.
The first step of making is cutting the bamboo stalks.
These stalks are then split up into fillets.
These fillets are then flattened producing very thin strands of bamboo.
These strands are then interwoven and these are then glued together.
There are two different types of processes to glue them together.
They can be glued vertically or horizontally.
The strands of bamboo that are woven together are bound together with resin and put under heavy pressure.
The quality of resin used in binding the bamboo stalks together matters a lot.
The better the resin used the more durable will be the floors.
If the quality of resin is poor or the amount used is little then the bamboo floors will crack under pressure.
Lastly to make the floors scratch proof you should opt for a satin finish.
A high gloss finish will only show the scratches more easily rather than hiding them.
