Who Won "Amazing Race"?

The nineteenth season of The Amazing Race featured Olympic Snowboarders, former Survivors, two flight attendants, man who sailed around the world by himself at 16; a former NFL player and a record-setting boat captain.

During the 30-day competition, the contestants crossed four continents, 10 countries and more than 30,000 miles. In the end, the CBS reality competition came down to three teams dueling it out in Atlanta, Georgia:

• Former NFL player Marcus Pollard and his wife Amani Pollard of Pine Mountain, Georgia.
• Engaged Chicagoan couple, project manager Ernie Halvorsen and brand manager Cindy Chiang.
• Californian nurse practitioner Sandy Draghi and her boyfriend commercial real estate agent Jeremy Cline.

Whatever advantage the Pollards gained by being in their home state was lost when they crashed their flight simulator a half a dozen times, leaving the other couples to gain unstoppable leads.

Draghi and Cline moved out in front but took advice from the wrong guy, who sent them to a former Home Depot instead of the former residence of Margaret Mitchell, author of Gone With the Wind. The couple also forgot Indonesia when they mapped out the course they had traveled.

This gave Ernie Halvorsen and Cindy Chiang an edge, which they leveraged to win Season 19 of Amazing Race.

After announcing they had won the million dollar prize, host Phil Keoghan added, "At the end of the last leg, you said you wanted to win The Amazing Race so badly because you wanted to make some real change in the world.

You wanted to do something for others. Could you tell everybody what that is?"

Chiang explained, "We'd really like to create an organization that would help to really multiply the million and really help those who are really in need. We've been around the world, and all of us have met the most amazing people. We're so happy, but they just need a little bit extra. We want to be able to help inspire them to live a better life and contribute to the global economy."
