How to Find the IP Address of a Business

Finding IP Address Manually

• 1). Click on "Start," then "Run" on your PC.
  
  
• 2). Type "cmd" in the text box and press "OK." You will be directed to the Command Prompt window, which may look similar to: "C:\>" or "C:\Documents and Settings\User>."
  
  
• 3). Type in the following information: "ping businesswebsite.com"
  
  
• 4). Replace "businesswebsite.com" with the organization's actual domain name. Then press the "Enter" key. The IP address for the business will be displayed on your screen.
  
  
• 5). Close out of the Command Prompt window to return to your main screen.
  
  

Finding IP Address Online

• 1). Go to an IP address locator online (see Resources).
  
  
• 2). Type in the website or domain for the business you're checking on.
  
  
• 3). Press the "Enter" key to retrieve the company's IP address.
