Carpet Cleaning Guide: Cleaning Up Glue Spills From Your Carpet

Here is a simple guide that can help you through this cleaning ordeal.
· Remove the Excess Glue Immediately - As soon as the spill occurs, immediately try to scoop up the excess glue using a blunt bread knife.
Always be careful not to cut or damage the carpet fibers when you are doing so.
Removing the excess glue will make it easier to clean up the remaining stain as well as preventing it from spreading further into your carpet.
· Blot the Glue Stain With a Clean Cloth - The next step in fighting glue spills and stains is to blot it using a clean cloth.
But before you do so, apply a cleaning solution made up of one teaspoon of non-bleach detergent and a cup warm water to the stain.
This will help dissolve the glue and make it easier to remove.
Then, start blotting the stain until all of it is gone or until it is no longer transferring onto the clean cloth.
· Apply Ammonia Solution on the Stain - If the previous step is unsuccessful in removing the glue stain completely, try applying an ammonia cleaning solution onto the stain.
You can make this by mixing a teaspoon of ammonia and a half-cup of water.
Then, start blotting the area again until the stain is completely removed.
· Rinse the Area With Water - With the stain now gone, rinse the area you just cleaned with water and dry it up with a sponge or a clean towel.
