They were harassed by others into taking down their billboard on Reading Road leading into downtown.
The billboard which read, "Don't believe in God...
You're Not Alone.
" was just a little too thought provoking I guess.
So, these people, (who have the right to their own opinion) pay five thousand dollars to put up a billboard for one month.
Shortly after, a mere two days, a slew of phone calls flood the Cities District Manager in regards to a myriad of complaints about the nature of the message.
Then the organization responsible for the billboard, 'The Cincinnati Coalition for Science and Reason' also begin receiving phone calls, also complaining about the message.
They start getting death threats from those who believe in God.
I have never been so outraged by such senseless acts.
They have since moved the billboard to a knew location due to the threats and complaints.
You know, I believe in God but I also believe in the men and women who fought and died for other people to have the right to their own opinion and the freedom to express that right in a mature fashion.
My understanding of God is vastly different from the norm.
I do not even discuss it out in the open due to this very kind of reaction.
Needless to day my belief is that God is beyond our ability to comprehend.
I do not understand how people who say that they truly believe in God can feel justified by threatening others who don't.
Now I know that not all those who complained did so in a threatening manner, but the whole ordeal still says a lot about the type of people there are and what they are capable of.
In my view, this is a typical kind of reaction from bigots who think they are going to heaven and everyone that they don't like are going to burn.
This general type of fanaticism is always present and associated with religion.
When people discuss religion they tend to let reason and understanding fly right out the window.
Death threats from those who believe in God.
