Painting Outdoor Wood & Bamboo Furniture
- 1). Take apart the furniture, if possible. Remove any upholstery, seat slings or cushions and set aside.
- 2). Put on face mask and goggles and place the furniture onto a drop cloth or old newspapers.
- 3). Remove old paint, if necessary, using a paint stripper applied with a clean rag. Follow the manufacturer’s directions for application and removal.
- 4). Wipe furniture well with a tack cloth to remove any residual paint and dust.
- 5). Spray the wood primer onto bamboo furniture and allow to dry, per the manufacturer’s directions.
- 6). Shake the spray paint vigorously for several minutes, then apply to all areas of the furniture, using even strokes. Allow the paint to completely dry before reassembling and replacing seats and cushions.
